Abstract

The primary goal of this article is to initiate a profound discussion in Bulgaria by correctly defining the issues and by presenting the views of the 3 traditional for Bulgaria religions: Christianity, Islam and Judaism. These religions condemn euthanasia in all forms and only as an exception and subject to some conditions one can argue that passive euthanasia could be accepted. We are faced as society with the open question are we surrendering to Evil if we allow euthanasia or we could agree that religious norms as basis for our ethical values would not be affected if euthanasia is legalized?
